#28 of 52 - Dashpoint Trail Half

This was my first time at Dashpoint State Park in Federal Way. It was a rainy, soaked-to-your-bones day. The course was 2 laps. On my first lap, I tried to go around all of the mud puddles. On my second lap, the mud puddles had been churned into mud bogs and we all just ran through them. I had a blast. I used to love running through the mud when I was growing up on the farm. It really paid off, too. There were people slipping all over the trail but I was "experienced" at this and passed them all!

I am half way through the year! Only 24 more races to go!

#27 of 52 - Mercer Island Half Marathon

I've done this race a few times before when I was in my 20s. I never liked it. But I enjoyed it today. I ran with Tami and the weather was warm and sunny. We heard that parking was scarce and to arrive early. I like to sleep in so arriving anywhere early does not appeal to me. Luckily, my husband works with someone who lives 3 blocks from the start and we got to park in his driveway!

#26 of 52 - St Paddy's Day Run

I am officially half way! This was my 26th race and I still have 2 more weeks before I am half way through the year. I met up with Tina, a young woman that Tami and I have met previously on runs. We ran the last few miles together. This race was put on be the Tacoma City Marathon Association--the same guys that started the Half Fanatics and Marathon Maniacs clubs. I wore my green dress to show my St Patrick's Day spirit.

#25 of 52 - Lake Samammish Half Marathon

This was a nice race. Most of the run is on an old railroad grade along Lake Samammish that was repurposed for a hiking/biking path. I am staying up late at night to do my work and not getting enough sleep. I can feel it when I run. My heavy work load has been taking its toll.  I finished the race in just under 2:02 but I really should have done much better because it was a cool day and the course was flat. The balance in my life has not been optimal lately.

SJP

I love Sarah Jessica Parker. Period. And I got to meet her today!!!!!
She was at Nordstrom signing autographs and I was there. She was so thoughtful and I wished I had brought my daughter with me. I bought a pair of SJP shoes, too!

I also met the sweetest young lady for Brazil, Isadora. She is an exchange student living in Portland, OR. Her host dad brought her to Seattle to meet Sarah Jessica. Isadora bought the same pair of shoes that I did.

Hot Chocolate 5K and 15K

This day didn't count toward my half marathon goal, but I promised my daughter I would run this with her again this year. We ran with her best friend and family. This race starts so early in the morning! But we were rewarded with hot chocolate and a pot of chocolate fondue at the finish.

As soon as we finished the race, I jumped over to the start line with Tami to do the 15K. The timing was perfect!
